The flashing on the veranda roof, at first, doesn’t seem to be a major item for completion. But listen to this restoration worker at about the 39 second mark in the video, as he talks about hotel guests looking out their windows and seeing ugly and unclean seams on the veranda flashing. He’s new to the crew, but he’s not just doing a job, he’s thinking through to the customers and guests who will see his work.
This is an almost universal trait among the restoration crew – interest in the history and craftsmanship that went into this historic part of the American West and working to continue that tradition.
